These two square needlework designs were just shy of fitting perfectly onto the panels of this Lantern purse. Matching silk dupioni fabric was added to make them large enough to fit the space. The were lined with matching silk dupioni and interlined with a thin plastic template for shaping and batting for a slight amount of padding. The panels were then hand stitched to the purse to form pockets. The Melissa Shirley designs were stitched by Jane Wood as a donation for the ANG Auction in Indian Wells Seminar 2008.

A canvaswork design is finished into a clutch
purse. The purse in finished in grey suede fabric with a grey silk
lining and interior pocket. Leftover threads from the design were
used to create the custom twisted cording trim. Silver Simplicity

This needlepoint design was finished into an open
tote bag. The bag fabric is a heavy-weight corduroy fabric and the
lining fabric is light blue twill. The top inside back of the bag
is machine embroidered with a personal message from the stitcher to the
recipient. The bag has pinch-pleated corners at the bottom. |

tote bag. A mitered fabric-framed front and box edge give this bag structural details. The edge of the boc trim is decorated with flat braid that matches the twisted cording trim. Lined with golden satin moire. |

with a red cord; the ladybug bag is zippered with a ribbon handle.

basketweave with harps done in goldwork.
